Founded in 1934, the JLA Resale Shop is the oldest and second largest fundraiser for The Junior League of Austin. Supported by one full time manager and two sales associates, the JLA Resale Shop serves as the first community project for each year's provisional class. This year alone, 150 provisional members of the Junior League of Austin will provide over 4800 volunteer hours staffing the JLA Resale Shop for the Austin community.
The JLA Resale Shop has been in its current location at 6555 Burnet Road since 1997. An expansion in 2003 added significant square footage to the sales area and allowed the JLA Resale Shop to accept and display furniture year-round.
In 2004-2005, the JLA Resale Shop proudly contributed $88,420 to The Junior League of Austin's General Fund. In addition, the JLA Resale Shop donated over $18,000 in merchandise to The Salvation Army and Goodwill, and gave local foster families over $10,000 in clothing.
